As the new Eagle teacher this year, I decided that we needed to start the year off with something fun. A way that I could get to know my students and see their creative minds at work. I gave each student the following supplies in order to create their egg drop container:
- 2 Foam Plates
- 3 Meters of Masking Tape
- 4 Pipe Cleaners
- 4 Rubber Bands
- 6 Pop Sickle Sicks
- 6 Drinking Straws
On the day of the egg drop we had a blast! The first drop, from the playground slide was a total success, with no eggs cracking! For round 2 we dropped the egg containers from my 3rd floor window! Surprisingly, most of the creative egg containers survived! Students were then encouraged to create a second egg drop container from materials that they had a home. The only rules were that they could not use any material that we had used in the first round. Now the creative juices really flowed! This project was lots of fun and I am already planning the Second Annual Egg Drop!
